Privacy Policy

WHO WE ARE
Azure Palace is a private hotel at Keizersgracht 217, 1016 DT Amsterdam. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us, and we handle it under the General Data Protection Regulation.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Only what a stay requires: your name, your contact details, the dates of your visit, a card to guarantee the reservation, and anything you choose to tell us — an allergy, a preference, the reason you are coming. Dutch law also asks us to record the identity document of every guest on arrival.
HOW WE USE IT
To hold and prepare your room, to take payment, to answer your letters and to meet our legal and tax obligations. With your permission, and only then, we may write to you after your stay. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
WHO ELSE SEES IT
The few partners who help us run the house: our reservation and payment systems and, when you ask us to, a guide or a driver. Each may use your information for that purpose alone.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Reservation records for as long as the law requires for accounting, usually seven years. Preferences you have shared are kept only while they are useful to you, and deleted the moment you ask.
YOUR RIGHTS
You may ask to see what we hold, to correct it, to take it elsewhere or to have it erased, and you may withdraw a permission at any time. Write to privacy@azurepalace.com. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Terms of Stay

RESERVATIONS
A reservation is confirmed once we have written to you with a confirmation number. A card guarantees it. Nothing is charged before arrival, unless the stay falls in a peak period or lasts five nights or longer — then one night is taken at booking and deducted from the final account.
CANCELLATION
Free until 48 hours before arrival. Inside that window, or if you do not arrive, the first night is charged. Rates marked non-refundable cannot be changed or cancelled.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Rooms are ready from 15:00 and are yours until 12:00 on the day you leave. A later departure can usually be arranged the evening before. Every guest over eighteen is asked for a valid identity document on arrival.
RATES AND TAXES
Rates are per room, per night, and include breakfast and VAT. The Amsterdam tourist tax is charged separately, at the percentage the city sets.
THE HOUSE
The house is non-smoking throughout, and a cleaning charge applies where that is not respected. Small dogs are welcome in three rooms by prior arrangement. We may ask a guest whose conduct disturbs others to leave, without refund.
LIABILITY
Please keep valuables in the safe in your room. We are liable for loss or damage only as far as Dutch law requires. These terms are governed by Dutch law, and any dispute is brought before the competent court in Amsterdam.

WHAT WE USE
Necessary cookies, without which the site does not work; these cannot be switched off. With your consent, analytics cookies, which tell us without naming you which pages are read. And, only if you accept them, cookies from partners such as a booking engine or a map.
YOUR CHOICE
We ask on your first visit, and nothing beyond the necessary is set until you answer. You can change your mind at any time by clearing cookies in your browser; the question will be asked again.
HOW LONG THEY LAST
Necessary cookies end with your visit. Analytics cookies are kept for no longer than twelve months.

Accessibility

THIS WEBSITE
We want this site to work for everyone. It aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA: text can be enlarged, images carry descriptions, every page can be used with a keyboard, and movement is reduced when your device asks for it. Where it still falls short, we would rather hear it than guess.
THE HOUSE
The ground floor, the restaurant and one room are step-free from the street, and the lift takes a standard chair. The seventeenth-century staircase is not an alternative, so write to us before you book and we will tell you exactly what to expect.
